he clenches his chest as the poison kicks in
in its ironic form
of drugs he took to remain sane
with all these ghosts beckoning him
the dead turn a macabre smile as they draw him within

the scales lie broken
and stomped over and over on the ground

the world we knew was lost forever
led into the void by a man
maliciously aware of pain he caused
